Advanced Materials for Sustainable Energy Storage

Exploring new electrode materials, understanding battery reaction mechanisms and developing sustainable recycling technologies.

My research focuses on the design, synthesis, and advanced characterization of electrode materials for electrochemical energy storage systems, including sodium-ion and lithium-ion batteries, as well as hybrid supercapacitors.

Using a solid-state chemistry approach, I investigate the relationships between material composition, crystal structure, morphology, surface chemistry, and electrochemical performance. Particular attention is devoted to understanding reaction mechanisms and structural transformations during battery operation through advanced in situ and operando characterization techniques.

My research also addresses the development of sustainable recycling strategies for lithium-ion batteries, with a particular focus on direct recycling processes that preserve the properties and value of electrode materials.
